2 people ejected in downtown L.A. ‘major injury’ collision
Two people were in critical condition after being ejected during a violent collision in downtown Los Angeles early Thursday.
Officers responded to the area of East Olympic Boulevard and Naomi Avenue for what was described as a “major injury” crash around 2:30 a.m., a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.
Investigators believe a vehicle involved in the crash ran a red light before striking a forklift.
The driver of the car and the forklift operator were both ejected as a result of the impact, the spokesperson said.
The identities of the patients, who were both taken to a local hospital in critical condition, have not been released.
No further details regarding the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation, were released.
Olympic Boulevard was closed between Naomi Avenue and Hooper Avenue for the investigation.
